Think Jungle....lime green overload!

So...as most of you know, I got a wild hair to paint my classroom this summer. Um...what was I thinking?! It was this horrible yellow color that I referred to as "dullow!" ha It.had.to.go. So I did my research - bright colors, calming, energy, etc. and went with a lime green color. All about the explorers and safari theme. Think jungle. Anyways...wanted to give ya'll a sneak peek. I'm not quite done...and I've changed things alot since the last photos I've shared. Seriously - I may have rearranged my room and swapped my bulletin boards out like 5 times. I.have.problems.

Do you ever get ideas in your head and then when you go to put it on paper, it doesn't come out right? Well, that's me...with my classroom. I've had all these ideas swirling around...but nothing is coming out like I want it to. ha I think I'm just putting TOO much thought into it. Maybe I'll even repaint next year...tone it down a little? Oh well...it's almost done and that's what is important. Take a look....
I went with kraft paper and double borders on all of my boards (for a uniformed look). I drew out the explorer and added greenery to the top. Inspiration: Clutter Free Classroom

So...that's all for now! Whatcha think? Stay tuned for inspiration. I'll be posting pics from some friends' classrooms and hopefully a little blog post about "community bins!" Happy Saturday!

Erin, your room looks awesome! Love it! I love the green walls. Wish we could paint but I'm not even sure what I would paint. Most of my walls are red brick.

Your room just perfect! I would love going to work everyday even more with a room like that. Your kiddos are going to be thrilled when they see it. Did you have to ask for permission before you painted? HE HE HE Amber ~ Kindergarten Rocks Blog

I LOVE it! How did you get your IKEA leaves to hang from the wall? Did you use screws? I have a leaf, but the custodian doesn't want us to make holes in the walls and I want to hang my leaf. :)

I love your classroom. And I love your zebra rugs. Where did you find them? I too have a jungle theme in my classroom. I will be posting pictures in a couple of weeks when I can get into my classroom.

Adorable! I haven't seen that color in a room before but I really like it! My room is yellow, green, beige, and peach with a blue carpet. Um, yeah. I could go for a white room at this point!!!

I absolutely love your room and like everyone else I so wish we were allowed to paint ours! I am stuck with the same dull yellow! Boring. Also, we are not allowed to hang anything from our walls either!!!

I am doing a similar theme, and have LOVED looking at the cutest class you've created! I was wondering where you got the cute safari guy graphic (no luck with much searching). Hope you don't mind I'm stealing a few of your ideas!! Thanks for sharing and always having such great posts and freebies!

What a beautiful room!! WOW! We are not allowed to paint our rooms, have lamps, or hang things from the ceiling. We can only have 20% of a wall covered with anything!!!! Rules, rules, rules............

Thanks everyone! I love it! :) To answer your questions...

I had to ask to paint, buy it, and paint everything myself, too! Moral of story - HIRE IT DONE! haaaaa

Zebra rugs are from Wal Mart!

IKEA leaves are hung on pipes in my room with zip ties!! No nails, no holes = happy school!

The explorer was drawn and colored by me! I just found him on the internet....sketched him on poster board, colored, and cut. He's not even laminated...ha! Just hot glued to wall and added some leaves - viola!

Hop that helps!! Thank you for your sweet comments.
